Data privacy statement

Data protection is an important concern to Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH & Co KG. For that reason, the data of our customers are processed exclusively in observation of the applicable data protection regulations.

We collect and process personal data if you provide us with them and if we are entitled to do so on the basis of consent you have granted or on the basis of a statutory regulation on its collection, use and processing.

If we receive personal data about you from other companies, you will be informed of this as quickly as possible, or upon initial contact at the latest. These data too will only be saved and processed on the basis of statutory regulations.

Personal data

Personal data mean all information relating to an identified or identifiable physical person (hereinafter referred to as a “data subject”).

We collect and process the following personal data:

In the contact form, we collect: surname, first name, company, address, telephone, fax, E-mail address, internet site (homepage).

On the online questionnaire for supplier applications, we collect: company, address, telephone, fax, E-mail address, internet site (homepage), contact person, QM contact person and non-personal data.

We process the above-mentioned personal data for the following purposes:

  • Communication with you based on your message to us.
  • Processing of your data on the supplier application form.

The processing of the personal data is necessary for the above-mentioned purposes, including the performance of (contractual) business relationships with you. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, the legal basis for the data processing is Article 6 (1) (b) and (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation or the explicitly granted permission pursuant to Article 6 (1) (a) of the General Data Protection Regulation.

Should the above-mentioned data be used for a purpose other than the original purpose of collection, you will be informed before the data are transferred further. You have the opportunity to object to the processing of your data for another purpose.

Transfer of data

All data you transfer to us will be kept confidential. We will not sell or otherwise market your personal data to third parties.

As a rule, your data will not be made available to third parties unless you have granted your consent to this or we are legally entitled and/or obliged to transfer these data.

If legally permissible and necessary to comply with applicable law or assert, exercise or defend legal claims, we will transfer personal data to courts, tax authorities and supervisory authorities. We take all measures to ensure the suitable and appropriate guarantees to protect your personal data.

We forward your personal data to the respective competent internal office of our company for the above-mentioned purposes. Technical service providers will have administrative access in the scope of data processing for purposes of correcting errors or carrying out security measures.

Duration of saving

If an explicit duration of saving is not specified upon collection, the personal data will be deleted, if they are no longer needed to fulfil the purpose of saving, unless statutory retention duties (e.g. trade and tax-related retention duties) oppose deleting them.

Data security

We take technical and organisational security measures to secure your data which we save and process at our company from manipulation, loss of confidentiality, destruction and unauthorised access. The security measures at our company are continuously being improved in line with technological development.

Rights of data subjects: Right to information, correction, deletion and restriction of the processing of your personal data, right to objection and right to data portability

Upon request, we will inform you whether and what personal data we save at our company in writing as per applicable law. If inaccurate information is saved in spite of our company’s efforts to maintain data security and data accuracy, we will correct this data at your request.

You also have the right to demand the processing of personal data by our company to be restricted. Furthermore, you may request to receive the data which you have provided our company with in a structured, conventional and machine-readable format. You may also object to the processing of personal data by our company.

You furthermore have the right to demand the deletion of your personal data, unless statutory retention periods oppose doing so. We will delete the data if we no longer need them for the purpose for which they were collected and processed, or if you withdraw your consent and there is no other legal basis for the further processing of your data. Furthermore, we will delete these data if the processing was unlawful for reasons unknown to us or if you have objected to the processing and there are no overriding legitimate interests for the processing. Your data will also be deleted if we are legally obligated to do so. Our company has also implemented technical measures to inform all recipients of your data about your request for deletion or correction. This only applies in the event that we have disclosed these data or made them public. All links, copies and replications of your personal data should be deleted.

If you have consented to the processing of your personal data, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time with future effect. Withdrawal of consent does not make data processing unlawful for the past.

The data are transferred to our company on a voluntary basis. However, these data are necessary for the further conclusion of the contract or for responding to your queries. If you do not wish to disclose your data, the contract may not be concluded or your queries may not be answered. The data must be provided in order for the contract to be concluded.

Data of minors

Personal data of children are not knowingly collected without explicitly stating that such data may only be transferred with the consent of their parents. Any use or disclosure of children’s personal data by our company will only take place to the extent permitted by law, to obtain the parental consent required by law or to protect children. The applicable statutory provisions of national legislation must be observed for the term “child/children”.

Log data

When you access our company’s homepage, your internet browser automatically transmits the following data (hereinafter referred to as “log data”) for technical reasons to our company's web server which our company records in log files:

  • Date of access, time of access, URL of the referring website, file accessed, data volume transferred, browser type and version, operating system, IP address (anonymised), screen resolution, domain name of your Internet access provider.

This is exclusively information which does not enable any conclusions to be drawn about the individual person. This information is required for technical reasons in order to correctly display website content requested by you and is mandatory when using internet offers. The log data are evaluated purely for statistical purposes in order to optimise our company’s internet presence and the technology behind it.

The log data are saved separately from other data which are collected by our company during use.

Cookies

Like many other websites, our company also uses what are known as “cookies”. Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a website server to your hard drive. This way, our company automatically receives certain data, such as IP address, browser used and operating system, via your computer and your Internet connection.

It is generally also possible to visit our company’s website without cookies. Internet browsers are regularly set to accept cookies. You can deactivate the use of cookies at any time by using your browser settings. If the cookies are deactivated, individual functions of our company's website may no longer work.

Web analysis via PIWIK

Our company uses PIWIK (renamed Matomo), an open source web analysis program, to evaluate the use of the website and optimise the offer. Cookies can be used to do this. The data on the use of our company's website are generated using pseudonyms and cannot be used by our company to identify individual users and their behaviour. These data may not be linked with other personal data of the bearer of the pseudonym without separately granted consent.

This website uses the web analysis service software Matomo (www.matomo.org, formerly PIWIK), a service from the provider InnoCraft Ltd, 150 Willis St, 6011 Wellington, New Zealand, (“Mataomo”), to collect and store data based on our legitimate interest in the statistical analysis of user behaviour for optimisation and marketing purposes in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These data can be used to create and evaluate pseudonymised usage profiles for the same purpose. Cookies can be used to do this. Cookies are small text files that are stored locally in the cache of the visitor’s Internet browser. Cookies enable the Internet browser to be recognised, among other things. The data collected with the PIWIK/Matomo technology (including your pseudonymised IP address) are processed on our servers.

The information generated by the cookie in the pseudonymous user profile is not used to personally identify the visitor to this website and is not linked with personal data about the bearer of the pseudonym.

If you do not consent to the saving and analysis of this data from your visit, then you may object to the saving and usage at any time with a click of the mouse as follows. In this case, an “opt-out” cookie will be set in your browser, which will prevent PIWIK/Matomo from collecting any data about your session. On our pages in the social media (Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and Xing), we offer you the possibility of staying in contact with us on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) of GDPR. These social media services may themselves collect personal data, e.g. via the profile you create there.

It cannot be ruled out that every visitor to these sites is recorded by the companies mentioned above.
